Brightly is a small, independent Jersey charity that provides financial support to children and young people from new-born to 25 years who are assisted by the Children’s Service or are suffering adversity. Most of these children and young people will have a Social/Support Worker – some will be:-

• living in residential care, foster care, or with extended family.
• have been in care (care experienced),
• acknowledged as being on the edge of care, being on the Child Protection Register, or being identified as a child in need.

Brightly’s aim is to provide some treasured memories for these young people that are not provided by the 'Corporate Parent' (the Government of Jersey). This may be something as simple as a toy or a new pair of trainers. It could be helping to cover the cost of nursery fees so that a parent (care leaver) can work or attend a training course. It might be something that enables a child to pursue a hobby like a camera or a bike, funding sports activities, fulfilling their need for further education and training, or providing a modest grant of up to £2,500 for furnishings for a 21-year-old, who often faces moving out of care alone without any family ties.

Together we can ensure that they have a healthy, secure, and happy childhood and move confidently toward adulthood and independence.
