Christa’s story

On 19 June 2025 I was told I had breast cancer, what followed was countless hospital appointments, surgery, Radiotherapy, hormone supressing treatment every month, followed by another operation at the end of March.

To mark my year anniversary, throughout June I’ll be running 7.4km every day, totalling 222km – representing the 222 Holistic Needs Assessment’s that MacMillan Jersey provided last year.  I am so grateful to have been one of the 222.  Thanks to MacMillan I got to enjoy yoga, fitness and reformer pilates classes, reflexology and access to the most loving and understanding team I could ever have imagined.

Your support means everything to not only me, but all those going through their cancer journey.  Every donation, no matter the size, makes a huge difference for everyone who benefits from the service, and for the amazing team at the Oasis Centre, helping them continue their fantastic work.

As Suntera we wanted to support Islanders facing cancer together.   

Macmillan Jersey offers free emotional support, practical information and group support to people in Jersey with any type of cancer and at any stage, along with their families and friends.  

With 1 in 2 likely to get a cancer diagnosis we wanted to make a difference ensuring no one faces cancer alone.  All donations, no matter the size makes a difference.
