About Nikki Reed
Hi i am Nikki, Mum to Archie. Finance Director at JTC. I love being out in nature and taking on new challenges. I am completing this trek in Albania to push myself outside my comfort zone and raise money for Dementia Jersey. in my memory of my dearest friends Dad Mike Jury. Mike and his family were deeply supported by the charity during this illness. I am 43 and live in Jersey and i want to make a difference in a way that is local and personal.
Faith matters to me and i try to live it through showing up for people when it counts, and doing things that stretch me physically and mentally.

Albania Alps Trek in aid of Dementia Jersey

I am taking on this trek to raise money for Dementia Jersey in memory of Mike Jury, the father of one of my closest friends.
Watching the impact dementia has on individuals and the people who love them is heartbreaking. Throughout Mike’s journey, Dementia Jersey provided invaluable support, guidance and compassion, and it’s because of charities like this that no one has to face dementia alone.
Dementia is a condition that touches so many lives. Around 1,600 Islanders are currently living with dementia, and that number is expected to grow significantly over the coming decades. As Jersey’s only dedicated dementia charity, Dementia Jersey provides expert advice, emotional support, counselling, therapeutic activities and education for people living with dementia, as well as their families and carers. Every pound raised stays in Jersey, helping local people when they need it most.
I’m also incredibly proud that Dementia Jersey is JTC’s Charity of the Year, and I’m delighted to support such an important cause through this challenge.
This trek is going to push me well outside my comfort zone—physically and mentally—but that’s exactly why I’m doing it. Challenges like this remind us of what we’re capable of, and if stepping outside my comfort zone can help make a difference to people facing far greater challenges every day, then every step will be worthwhile.
If you are able to donate, no matter how big or small, I would be so grateful. Your generosity will help Dementia Jersey continue providing vital support, raising awareness and ensuring that nobody in our island has to face dementia alone.
