This November, I'm taking on Sri Lanka 400 — six days and roughly 400km in the saddle, part of a ten-day trip from Negombo on the west coast, up into the tea plantations of Nuwara Eliya, and down to the south coast at Tangalle. Hot, humid lowlands, steep climbs through the highlands.
I'm doing it for Maison des Landes. My daughter Meg works as a children's palliative care support worker for Family Nursing & Homecare here in Jersey, and uses Maison des Landes' facilities often. She has families whose children can't swim in any other pool — Maison des Landes' hydrotherapy pool gives them a chance they wouldn't get anywhere else — which is exactly why I picked this charity to ride 400km for.
Every donation, big or small, goes directly to that work. If you can spare anything towards my target of £2,000, I'd really appreciate it — and a message of support never hurts when I'm halfway up a hill in 30-degree heat.
